Thomas H. Flanigon

He was killed in Luxembourg while rescuing wounded soldiers in battle.
Sgt. U.S. Army, World War II-Sgt. Flanigon was killed in action on 2-3-1945 while serving with the 86th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron of the 6th Armored Division in Luxemburg. He received the Silver Star for action that occured in France on 11-12-1944.
Sgt. Flanigon was married in Crawfordsville, Indiana on 2-20-1940 to the former Miss Marilou Slazas, and he is a 1934 graduate of Peoria High School. He does leave one brother, Mr. James S. Flanigon of 308 Crestwood in Peoria, Illinois, and President of the Great Central Mutual Insurance Co.
Awards: Silver Star, Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, European Campaign Medal with 3 Battle Stars, WWII Victory Medal.
