Stanley K. Heestand
Pvt. Stanley K. Heestand was killed in action in France August 5, 1944, his mother, Mrs. Mildred Heestand, 457 Cleveland Ave., learned this morning in a telegram from the War Department. Heestand was previously reported missing in action on that date.
The 51st Ashland countian to lose his life in service, Heestand, a graduate of Smithville high school, class of 33, was employed in Los Angeles as a chef at the time he entered the Army in March 1941. Joining the field artillery for training in this country in Feb. After serving for several months in England, he went to France in July.
